about me
Well, hello there. I’m Dani, one half of the team behind Living Behind the Curve – a blog about, among other things, simplicity. While I do strive for a certain level of simplicity in my life, I am by no means a zen master. I’m a control freak, I heart my lists and schedules, and I perform best under incredible amounts of stress. I’m a stereotypical Aries, full of fire and completely headstrong. This blog is my home away from home, a place to be me away from the cool greens and blues of LBtC.
In addition to my part-time job as the official office brain (I’m an executive assistant), I make jewelry and do various design- and audio-related things. My goal used to be to leave the rat race at 50 and work at WaWa — I’m now looking at a much simpler future, where I work for enjoyment and not for money (and not waiting until 50 to start). My mom “retired” at 50 from a high-stress 60 hr week job to a customer service position much lower down the ladder, which is where the magic number comes from.
I was once a caterer; I closed the kitchen doors in January ‘07 when I went back to school, and converted the site into a recipes and cooking blog (Catch the Spoon). LBtC, CtS, this blog, Mer’s blog, Mer’s audio production site Braindouche!, and the freelance work we do have now been consolidated under one tiny umbrella, Hot Glue Media.
All of that is to say that I’m more than just a little busy. I don’t update here as often as I should, or as often as I would like to. If you’re looking to get in touch with me, I recommend the use of this handy dandy contact form.
